My name is Patrick Goodlet and I am a founding member of At Your Side Therapy.
I provide an open, professional, welcoming and supportive environment for my clients where I work alongside you in a completely non-judgemental and confidential way.
Life can be challenging and difficult at times. Sometimes we need that litle extra help to make sense of, resolve or accept dificulties and issues we experience from our past, the present or our future. This can affect both our personal and professional lives.
I am passionate about helping clients find and release the inner person which is within everyone.
I have extensive experience in general counselling for all normal presenting issues. Some examples are depression, anxiety, low self confidence, low self esteem, anger management, bereavement, relationships, etc.
I am a trained and qualified person-centred counsellor but integrate facets from other therapies, including clinical hypnosis and client personal development and coaching. This gives me a flexible but focussed approach to my client work. I do not work from a one size fits all viewpoint.
I hold an additional qualification in clinical hypnosis. This approach can be integrated into my work with clients when appropriate, for example, in cases of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low-self-confidence, etc.
I have worked in various counselling services, both on a voluntary and fee-based basis, helping clients address a varied range of personal and profession-related issues.
I have experience of working with clients of all ages, in long term and short term contracts and in many different areas of counselling.
I have a special interest in relationship counselling (both couples and families) bereavement counselling, and work related issues. I have many years experience of involvement in work related situations supporting people up to management level in various business and service provision situations.
I am able to see clients within our office suite in Livingston or at my office in North Lanarkshire which ever is more convenient.
My qualifications are:
Bachelor of Science awarded by Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh
Counselling Skills Certificate awarded by COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland)
Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy awarded by Stirling University
Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma awarded by The National Council for Hypnotherapy
Membership of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)
