My approach:
"It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried." - On Becoming a Person, Rogers, 1961.
I truly believe that we are all unique and therefore we are the experts on ourselves. I believe we can all be trusted to find our own way through our problems, anxieties and life crises if we are listened to by the therapist empathically, non-judgementally, within a person centred approach. Through person-centred approach you experience real acceptance and genuineness from your counsellor, and empathy for you and how you experience your world. I will accompany you, looking at your world and how you experience it; what it feels like to be you. You are the expert on your own feelings and emotions.

My experience:
Prior to becoming a counsellor I had over ten years' experience of working with people who have enduring mental health problems. I have specialist experience of working in the charity sector and also privately with those clients as well as their family members too. I have considerable experience of supporting people with disabilities and long term health problems into work, as well as the impact of disability on everyday life. I bring an in-depth knowledge of the real pressures and demands of work in all kinds of different environments.
I have worked with adults from diverse backgrounds and different cultures as well as having worked with individuals from all walks of life with their own very particular needs. My approach has helped them to go through the process of change or make a full recovery.
